Here in Wisconsin,
we’re using democracy to fight climate change.
Catalyzing Bipartisan Support
We believe in empowering Wisconsinites to work together to find solutions to climate change. We build support in Congress for national bipartisan solutions to climate change by educating our elected officials and our neighbors. We use shared values to ensure we are working towards adopting climate change solutions that are fair, effective, and sustainable.
Climate Voters
This year we are making sure that every eligible voter who is concerned about climate change exercises their right to vote. It’s a powerful way to make sure that our elected officials work to enact strong climate policies once they are in office. Join us in empowering everyday people like yourself to vote and to work for good climate policies.
Climate Solutions
Democracy is more than voting. We build relationships with elected officials regardless of political party and strengthen their commitment to sensible climate solutions. We support carbon pricing, healthy forestry, clean energy permitting reform and building electrification–a suite of policies that will drive down carbon emissions and put us on track to net zero by 2050.
Levers of Political Will
How we do it

Lobbying Congress
We train citizens how to lobby in support of our Carbon Fee and Dividend proposal by building friendly relationships with our federally elected representatives.

Media Relations
We train citizens how to engage with and influence the media. We write letters to the editors and op-eds, meet with editorial boards and work to place stories in all forms of media.

Grassroots Outreach
We recruit and educate the public on climate solutions, citizen advocacy and how to participate with one’s government as voters and constituents.

Grasstops Engagement
We seek to educate, build partnerships with and gain the support of community leaders and non-governmental organizations, both nationally and locally.

Group Development/Organizing
It is through the growth and management of the local CCL group/chapter, that it becomes possible to push on the other four levers for building political will.
Our Impact

Resolutions for Carbon Fee and Dividend
Partnered with local governments across Wisconsin to sponsor resolutions supporting Carbon Fee and Dividend.

Climate Solutions Caucuses
Instrumental in establishing the House and Senate Climate Solutions Caucuses, bipartisan groups in both federal chambers which will explore policy options that address the impacts, causes, and challenges of our changing climate.

Introduction of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act
CCL successfully worked with Congress to introduce (H.R. 2307) The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2021. CCL supports this bill, and is working towards its re-introduction in the Senate, and its passage through Congress.
Together, we can have an impact.
